Maximize the Quality of Music Instruction
- Focus on teaching fundamental music concepts rather than just songs
- Create and document thoughtful lesson plans
- Communicate regularly with parents on student progress
Interact with Parents and Students
- Regularly interact with parents and students
- Be visible and accessible in the school
- Pitch in during canceled lessons
Assist in Rehearsals and Maintenance
- Participate in rehearsals
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks
Assist in Recruiting and Enrolling Students
- Contribute to student recruitment efforts
- Enroll new students
Requirements
- 4+ years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally
- Passion for and/or experience working with children under the age of seven (7)
- Classroom/early childhood education experience preferred
Skills
- Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design
- Experience with music genres such as rhythm, notation, pop, and rock
- Excellent customer service skills
- Positive and enthusiastic demeanor
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency on at least one instrument: guitar, keyboard/piano, drums, voice
