Early Childhood Mental Health - Family Therapist II

About the role

Provides clinical assessment, behavioral health treatment, case management, care coordination, and crisis intervention for children, adolescents and their families across all professional and clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing specific, realistic, and measurable treatment goals and objectives.
• Accurately assesses and documents client presenting problems, history, symptomology, mental status, and diagnosis.
• Prescribes initial interventions in a timely manner.
• Employs strategies of intervention that are consistent with empirically supported treatments and program expectations.
• Remains current in general knowledge of psychopharmacology in pediatric behavioral healthcare and collaborates consistently with team psychiatrist.
• Coordinates client care with other service providers and community resources to assure continuity of care.
• Completes clinical charting and other related administrative paperwork in accordance with policy standards.

Requirements

• Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy.
• Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
• Must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Education Requirement

• Master's degree from an accredited university or professional school of Counseling, Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy.

Licensure Requirement

• Appropriate Ohio licensure.
• Must remain current in required licensure and clinical or other training as required.
• Independent license or satisfactory progress toward independent licensure.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, peers, and community representatives.

Experience

• Providing and managing culturally appropriate and trauma-informed behavioral healthcare to children, adolescents and families.
