Healthy Kids Programs is hiring an Early Childhood Learning Teacher Assistant for our program at Taconic Hills Elementary School in Craryville, NY for the 2026–2027 school year.

About the role

This part-time, non-exempt position is ideal for individuals who love working with children and helping them learn through play and positive experiences. The role is well-suited for parents seeking a school-aligned schedule, education majors or future teachers, and retirees who enjoy mentoring children.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and group activities, as well as homework completion.
  • Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment while acting as a positive role model for children.
  • Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
  • Support program operations, including attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferably 1 year of experience working with children under 13.
  • Medically cleared of any communicable diseases, including TB.
  • Warm, friendly, upbeat, and professional with exceptional people skills.
  • Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
