Early Childhood English Teacher

About the role

The International School of Brooklyn (ISB) is seeking a Full-Time Kindergarten and Grade 2 English Teacher for the 2026-2027 School Year. ISB is committed to developing each student’s creativity, critical thinking, global citizenship, and intercultural understanding through an inquiry-based learning approach, diversity, and global curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging learning experiences that nurture the development of the whole child within a collaborative and supportive school community.
• Work collaboratively in lesson planning to implement a strong and engaging PYP curriculum.
• Design differentiated learning experiences that support a range of learners.
• Manage the classroom effectively and foster a positive, inclusive environment.
• Teach and assess grade-level curriculum while supporting individual student growth.
• Collaborate with learning support staff, specialists, and grade-level colleagues to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of lead teaching experience in an elementary school setting.
• Experience teaching Kindergarten and/or elementary-aged students.
• Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate instructional practices.
• Ability to teach and assess grade-level curriculum while supporting individual student growth.
• Familiarity with inquiry-based learning and the Primary Years Programme (PYP).

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a related field.
• Strong foundation in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL).
• Experience teaching foundational literacy skills in English.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with students, families, and colleagues.

Pay

Salary Range: minimum $65,731 to maximum $107,899 (based on experience).
