About the role
Temple Shalom Nursery School (TSNS) is a play-based, nature-rich early childhood program serving children ages 18 months to 5 years. Rooted in Jewish values—community, kindness, respect, curiosity, and justice—we create a warm, inclusive environment where children, families, and educators thrive. Our summer program brings all of this to life in a joyful, outdoor-centered camp experience.
Responsibilities
- Support a nurturing, engaging classroom or camp group environment
- Build relationships with children through play, curiosity, and care
- Participate in outdoor activities, water play, and nature exploration
- Collaborate with co-teachers, counselors, and leadership
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and joyful environment
Qualifications
- Age 16+ (counselor roles)
- Experience with young children preferred (for educator roles)
- Enthusiasm, responsibility, and a willingness to learn
- Comfort being outdoors for much of the day
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Jewish knowledge/experience is a plus, but not required
Compensation
$18–$29/hour, based on experience and role
