Early Childhood Educator, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

About the Role

At Alpha, academic learning happens in just two hours daily through adaptive technology. This structure allows Guides to concentrate on transformational work: developing confidence, resilience, communication skills, and the drive to embrace difficult challenges. Your day won't involve standing before a class delivering lessons. Instead, you'll coach students through obstacles, acknowledge their progress, and demonstrate what rigorous standards look like when combined with authentic support.

You'll oversee a single K-3 cohort band—either Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Approximately half your time goes to facilitating dynamic, one-hour workshops focused on essential life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback. The remaining time is dedicated to individual and small-group coaching, leveraging learning analytics to ensure each child advances toward challenging weekly targets. Every moment counts. Students should emerge from your workshops more skilled than when they entered and leave coaching conversations believing they're capable of more than they previously imagined.

This position isn't suited for someone seeking to deliver standard curriculum or oversee traditional classroom management. This is a full-time, on-site position at an Alpha campus. Current opportunities at this compensation level are located in Scottsdale, AZ; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, Georgetown, Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth, and Houston, TX; and Park City (Salt Lake City area), UT.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate compelling life-skills workshops that guide K-3 students in mastering communication, concentration, feedback, and other foundational skills through hands-on engagement instead of passive instruction.
• Provide individualized and small-group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation frameworks, and meaningful relationships to ensure every child progresses toward challenging weekly learning targets.
• Evaluate life-skill proficiency using Alpha's Test2Pass system, supporting students until they show genuine mastery—not merely attendance.
• Adjust your coaching approach to match your cohort's developmental stage, whether that involves songs, physical activity, and narratives for younger students or greater autonomy and responsibility for older ones.
• Establish relationships where students feel sufficiently supported to push beyond their perceived limitations.
• Develop a K-3 cohort of students who are excited to attend school, reliably reach ambitious learning targets, and acquire the life skills that equip them for success well beyond elementary school.

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Presenting academic content from the front of a classroom. Students complete academics through adaptive technology.
• Developing curriculum independently. You'll refine and customize established playbooks rather than creating lessons from scratch.
• Supervising students as they work quietly on computers. Your responsibility centers on active coaching, encouragement, and engagement.
• Reducing standards when students encounter difficulties. Progress comes from supporting students to meet the challenge, not adjusting the challenge downward.
• Overseeing homework, evaluating assignments, or conducting standard parent communications.

Requirements

Basic Requirements

• Able to work on-site at an Alpha campus.
• Bachelor's degree in any field.
• Minimum 3 years of direct experience with children ages 4-9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth initiatives, or comparable settings.
• Demonstrated success motivating young children toward demanding goals, with concrete examples of your influence.
• Ease with AI-powered educational tools while directing your efforts toward coaching, motivation, and life-skill cultivation.
• Capacity to combine genuine warmth with consistently high expectations.
• Legal authorization for U.S. employment without need for visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Background in youth athletics, children's performing arts, camp administration, Montessori education, progressive schooling models, or engaging after-school initiatives.
• Personal history of accomplishing demanding goals in education, sports, or professional pursuits.
• Exceptional narrative or presentation abilities that effortlessly engage young children's attention.
• Track record of transforming hesitant or reserved children into confident, active contributors.
