One full-time (0.90 FTE, 36 hrs/week) position at Learning Community of South Omaha (24th & M).
Schedule
- Usually Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Various evening shifts (5:00 pm - 8:00 pm) required per month
Responsibilities
- Support the on-site child learning team to ensure integrity and quality within early childhood classrooms
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in early childhood education and Nebraska Department of Education standards
- Work with staff and management to implement best practices in early childhood classrooms at the Learning Community Center of South Omaha (LCCSO)
- Assist with training and coaching for some community childcare providers
- Ensure the education program is developmentally appropriate and meets children’s individual needs
- Support and monitor effective classroom environments, teacher-child interactions, and curriculum implementation
- Engage in coaching and reflective practices with classroom teachers to ensure high-quality program practices
- Observe in classrooms, engage in collaborative problem-solving and planning, implement agreed-upon strategies, and reflect on progress to determine next steps in the action plan
- Support staff in the implementation of quality early childhood practice based on Nebraska Early Learning Guidelines
- Build relationships with classroom teachers based on mutual respect and effective communication
- Assist the Program Manager in the preparation of program performance reports
- Report Child Learning Team progress via observation tools
- Communicate both verbally and in writing with the Program Manager about any classroom issues; make recommendations for change
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the business and adapt to the organization’s changing needs
