About the role

The Early Childhood Education Center Director leads and inspires a dedicated team to provide an exceptional learning environment for young children. This pivotal role shapes the future of the center, ensuring high-quality educational programs, fostering a nurturing community, and driving operational excellence. You will champion child development, engage families, and uphold the center’s commitment to educational innovation and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership for all center operations, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment.
  • Lead and manage all staff, including hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluating performance; provide clear work direction and foster professional growth.
  • Oversee and guide the implementation of age-appropriate curriculum, ensuring alignment with best practices in Early Childhood Education and Child Development.
  • Manage daily program operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and facility maintenance.
  • Develop and monitor the center’s budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and efficient resource utilization.
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance with all local, state, and federal licensing standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with families through effective communication, fostering a collaborative partnership in children’s development.
  • Drive strategic planning initiatives, identifying opportunities for program enhancement and center growth.
  • Cultivate a positive and collaborative culture, empowering staff through effective team leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education Administration, or a related field.
  • Significant childcare management experience, demonstrating successful leadership in an early childhood setting.
  • Proven track record in staff management, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Expertise in curriculum development and implementation.
  • Deep knowledge of Early Childhood Education principles and Child Development theories.
  • Understanding and application of best practices in program management and center operations.
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial resource allocation.
  • Ability to navigate and ensure adherence to regulatory compliance standards.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging parents, staff, and community members empathetically.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate teams through strong leadership skills.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Director Certification as required by state licensing.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.

Work Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Stands, walks, sits, and bends frequently throughout the day.
  • Interacts with children at their eye level, including sitting on the floor.
  • Works in a dynamic early childhood environment with varying noise levels.
