Essential Job Duties
Offering supervision and care to children before and during the After Care Program (After Care is offered daily from 3:00pm-5:00pm Monday, Tuesday, Wed, and Friday, and 2:00 -5:00pm on Thursday)
Arrive at work and be ready to begin responsibilities by 12:00pm (or earlier depending on class size). Check-in with and assist the Kindergarten Lead Teacher. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; provide care until 5:00pm. Tidy Classroom after children leave until 5:15pm.
Arrive to work and be ready to begin responsibilities by 11:00am on Thursdays and provide care until 5:00pm. Tidy Classroom until 5:15pm.
Implement, with Early Childhood Faculty input, developmentally and programmatically appropriate Waldorf Curriculum for the After Care Program.
Turn off lights, flush toilets, clean up classroom, adjust thermostats, tidy kitchen, vacuum, take out trash, and lock doors.
Supervise snack time.
Greet parents as they arrive.
Direct parents to sign their child out.
Act as Substitute Teacher as needed for Early Childhood programs.
Follow regular teacher’s lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and that encourages students to participate.
Modify teaching styles to fit the learning styles of various students.
Maintain a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment.
Supervise students out of class such as in hallways and in outside play areas.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience working with preschool aged children
Before/After School care experience preferred
Agreement with WSNO Employee Handbook
Friendly, flexible, and comfortable establishing classroom management
Extremely reliable and dependable
