About the role
The Woods, A Montessori School, in Woodbridge, VA, is seeking a Lead Early Childhood (3-6) Teacher for the remainder of the 2026-2027 school year starting on August 17, 2026. The position is for one year and is open to candidates with a passion for working with young children and the Montessori philosophy.
Responsibilities
- Give Montessori lessons
- Make observations
- Keep daily records
- Communicate with parents through various mediums
- Train and manage assistant faculty
- Provide care and support to all children
Qualifications
- AMI or other MACTE Certified Early Childhood Montessori Credential
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A commitment to The Woods' mission values of peace, independence, love of learning, and respect
- Flexibility and commitment to working in a team atmosphere
- Comfortable with electronic record-keeping
- Willingness to work during Summer Camp (preferred)

Pay
Salary: $60,000+ depending on experience and level of education
Schedule
Hours are 8:00 am – 4:00 pm with occasional evening meetings and two weekend events a year.
