About The Role

Our Industrial Center of Excellence (ICoE) team at WSP is seeking an Early Career Structural Engineer to join our team. Our group specializes in high-performing projects with a focus on the future in food and beverage, Federal, and industrial facility design. Our goal is to deliver excellent projects together with a positive experience for our clients and our communities alike.

A major component of our design process relies on Building Information Modeling (BIM). In particular, the use of Autodesk Revit Structural is one of the integrated collaboration tools used in communicating 3-D design to our project teams, owners, and construction professionals.

  • Help develop construction documents for a variety of clients.

We expect everyone on the team to assume ownership of the project's goals and success.

  • Design and analyze structural systems for building cores, shells, and foundations, including steel, concrete, and masonry elements.
  • Prepare structural drawings, specifications, and calculations in compliance with applicable codes (IBC, ACI, AISC).
  • Coverage with architects and other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil) to integrate structural design into overall facility plans.
  • Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction phase support.

Qualify Yourself

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • 0-1 years of experience in structural design for facilities or industrial projects.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis and design software, including STAAD, RAM and Risa, as well as AutoCAD, and Revit.
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards; strong technical writing and coordination skills.

EIT license preferred

  • Experience with Navisworks
  • Experience with food & beverage or federal facility projects; familiarity with BIM workflows.
  • Previous design and consulting experience
