Early career researcher event 2026

The next UK & Ireland Public Health Science Conference will be hosted by the School of Health and Wellbeing, University of Glasgow, with the generous support of Professor Emma McIntosh. The main conference will take place on Tuesday 20 April 2027, with a half-day event for early career researchers on the afternoon of Monday 19 April 2027. All conference events will be held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow city centre. The 2027 conference theme is Embedding evidence and enabling change: improving health and wellbeing through policy and practice. A full call for abstracts will be published shortly in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health. Please see abstract formatting guidelines here. The provisional abstract submission deadline is Friday 16 October 2026. In the meantime, colleagues may wish to note the Society for Social Medicine & Population Health annual conference, which will take place from 9 to 11 September 2026 and will be hosted by Queen Mary University of London. It aims to showcase the diversity, quality and impact of public health science, and to connect public health researchers, practitioners, and policy makers.
