About the role

As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will help design, implement, and maintain security solutions that protect Kyndryl and its customers from evolving cyber threats. Working across networks, infrastructure, cloud environments, and endpoint technologies, you will support the deployment and operation of security controls that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical systems and data. You will collaborate with cybersecurity architects, operations teams, and infrastructure specialists to implement secure solutions, support incident response and vulnerability management efforts, and continuously improve the organization's security posture through innovation and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, configure, and maintain cybersecurity technologies across network, endpoint, infrastructure, and cloud environments.
  • Support the deployment and operation of security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint protection, antivirus tools, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Help identify, assess, and remediate security vulnerabilities across systems and environments.
  • Support incident response, cyber resiliency, and threat hunting activities.
  • Translate technical and security requirements into secure, deployable configurations and solutions.
  • Monitor security technologies and recommend tuning, enhancements, or new use cases to improve effectiveness.
  • Evaluate implementation of dependencies, technical feasibility, and security requirements to support successful deployments.
  • Troubleshoot security technology issues and configuration challenges.
  • Create technical documentation, configuration standards, implementation guides, and best-practice materials.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, architecture, infrastructure, operations, and cloud teams throughout solution implementation and support.

Requirements

  • Foundational experience implementing, configuring, or supporting cybersecurity technologies.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles across networks, servers, endpoints, cloud environments, infrastructure, and hardware devices.
  • Experience with security technologies such as EDR, MDR, SIEM, SOAR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, antivirus solutions, or vulnerability management tools.
  • Understanding of incident response, vulnerability management, and threat hunting practices.
  • Knowledge of network, host, and cloud security concepts, attack techniques, and security investigations.
  • Ability to support the implementation and maintenance of security controls and technologies.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity regulations, organizational requirements, and industry security standards.
  • Ability to evaluate technical feasibility, dependencies, risks, and implementation constraints.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience creating technical documentation and operational guidance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional technical teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud security, cyber resiliency, incident management, Zero Trust architectures, network/edge security, IoT security, or AI-related security technologies.
  • Experience supporting security monitoring, threat detection, and advanced analytics platforms such as UEBA.
  • Understanding of the current cyber threat landscape and common attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
  • Experience with security engineering, security operations, or managed security service environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Industry certifications such as ECTHP (Certified Threat Hunting Professional), ECMAP (Malware Analysis Professional), Security+, CySA+, or similar cybersecurity certifications.
  • Experience working in highly regulated or enterprise technology environments.

Pay

The base compensation range for the position in the U.S. is $63,360 to $114,120 based on a full-time schedule. Your actual compensation may vary depending on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction, including geography, relevant job-related skills, education and experience, certification and licenses, internal pay equity, and market and business considerations.

  • California (All Other): $69,720 to $125,640
  • Colorado: $63,360 to $114,120
  • Massachusetts/Virginia: $63,360 to $125,640
  • New York City: $76,080 to $137,040
  • Washington: $69,720 to $125,640
  • Washington DC: $69,720 to $125,640

This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
