Early Career Commissioning Agent
About the role
This Opportunity WSP is initiating a search for an Early Career Commissioning Agent to join our Arlington, VA or Philadelphia, PA office.
Responsibilities
- Takes part in providing local technical assistance for activities to validate construction, integrity, operability, and the commissioning of building systems and facilities projects in the public and private sector.
- Takes part in providing basic assistance with the planning, directing, coordinating, testing, and commissioning and retro commissioning of building systems including electrical, HVAC, steam, compressed air, chilled water, plumbing, lighting and automation.
- Generates accurate and concise documentation regarding assigned aspects of the project.
- Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for performance, reliability, safety, and security for building inhabitants.
- Performs routine building or system commissioning functions and provides entry-level technical assistance on various design requirements, load calculations, and operating strategies to account for the proper installation and functioning of equipment and systems according to specifications.
- Assists with verifying the characteristics of a project and providing basic technical assistance on various design, installation, and integration issues relating to commissioning and retro commissioning of building systems including HVAC, steam, compressed air, chilled water, plumbing, lighting and automation.
- Generates complete, accurate, and concise documentation and specifications using electronic systems, drawings, diagrams, illustrations, spreadsheets, and reports.
- Complies with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include but are not limited to, location data, statistical documentation, studies and surveys, and construction.
- Completes training on assigned tasks.
- Exercises responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adheres to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Performs additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related discipline.
- 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
- Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
- Familiarity with process and concepts for smart building design and technology.
- Familiarity with relevant installation and/or construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
- Capable of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Pay
Expected Salary (all locations): $68,000 - $85,000
