About the Role
The Eagle Patrol Supervisor assists in coordinating the Eagle Patrol Program, ensuring campus safety and security. This role involves supervising student assistants, patrolling campus facilities, and responding to security and emergency situations.
Responsibilities
- Patrol and protect the campus community from hazards such as fire, theft, vandalism, trespassing, and other crimes.
- Assist in enforcing campus rules and regulations.
- Report hazardous or dangerous conditions.
- Check, open, and secure campus facilities.
- Respond to building and room security/fire alarms.
- Provide general information and service to the public.
- Supervise Eagle Patrol Student Assistants, including scheduling and setting a professional example.
- Patrol campus buildings, facilities, parking lots, and grounds.
- Unlock and secure buildings and doors; provide escorts as needed.
- Assist other public safety personnel as required.
- Compile and provide statistical data related to Eagle Patrol duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three to six months of related work experience.
- Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, public safety equipment and systems, including security and alarm activation/deactivation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other computer-based applications.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate incident reports.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse campus community.
- Ability to observe, assess, and respond appropriately to potential safety, security, or emergency situations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, visitors, and the campus community.
- Ability to learn and effectively utilize department-specific systems and technology.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, work independently under general supervision, and provide courteous and professional customer service.
- Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
- Demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment.
A background check (including a criminal records check) is required and must be completed satisfactorily before employment. Failure to pass the background check may affect employment status.
Pay
Salary range: $3,461–$5,043 per month (budgeted hiring salary: $3,747 per month).
Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Non-exempt classification.
