About The Role
The E-commerce Site Merchandiser plays a key role in the customer experience across John Paul Mitchell Systems’ direct-to-consumer channels. This role is responsible for driving a best-in-class digital product experience through strategic site merchandising, content planning, and data-informed optimization. This hybrid role works 3 days a week from our Santa Monica office.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business performance data and surface insights to inform site decisions and optimize the customer journey
- Support A/B testing initiatives, including setup, monitoring, and post-test analysis to drive continuous improvement
- Manage timelines and cross-functional dependencies to ensure on-time delivery of site updates and launches
- Identify and execute merchandising updates across the site on a consistent basis, based on analytical review
- Monitor site performance and customer behavior, translating data into actionable recommendations
- Contribute to planning sessions and post-launch reviews, sharing learnings and optimization opportunities
- Help maintain site best practices, including product taxonomy, page sequencing, and content hierarchy
- Monitor and optimize site search performance, including keyword targeting, search result relevance, and no-results resolution to improve discoverability and conversion
- Assist in set up and testing across Email + SMS channels and scheduling of campaigns
- Own merchandising products across category pages, collections, and custom landing pages to maximize engagement and sales
- Add, update, and remove site navigation elements based on seasonal needs, assortment changes, and marketing priorities
- Lead product QA ahead of launches, ensuring accuracy across front-end and back-end flows
- Provide weekly category, monthly category, and seasonal selling reporting to guide re-merchandising and inventory decisions
- Deliver weekly and monthly onsite search performance reports, identifying opportunities to refine search logic and customer experience
- Produce and analyze weekly Conversion Rate (CVR) reports to support strategic insights and optimization initiatives
- Assist in pulling weekly, monthly, and annual reporting across D2C channels
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years in ecommerce and/or digital marketing, preferably within the beauty space
- Experience with Shopify+, working with external tools and agencies, and third-party merchandising and search tools
- Proficient in merchandising and ecommerce analytics
- Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PPT)

Pay
The expected base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000, determined by geographic location, experience, skills, and education. This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
Schedule
This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days a week in the Santa Monica office.
