E-Commerce Shipper - Full Time
Goodwill Industries of Northeast Indiana, Inc. is looking for a Shipper for our E-Commerce Department in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This fast-paced position supports our mission to empower and prepare people for independence through training, personal growth, and work. Our E-commerce department collects and sells donated goods, ensuring customers receive their purchases securely and promptly.
About the role
As a Shipper, you will ensure customers receive their purchases safely by selecting appropriate shipping materials, packing items securely, and using computerized shipping software. Each day involves shipping a variety of items, requiring strong attention to detail, accurate weighing and measuring, and completion of shipping paperwork.
Responsibilities
- Run daily “To Be Shipped” Report.
- Confirm items match shipping report descriptions and item numbers.
- Identify shipping carrier and select the appropriate size box for safe delivery.
- Pack items using proper techniques and materials (e.g., bubble wrap, packing peanuts).
- Weigh completed packages and note details on the package.
- Run shipping labels using carrier software and attach them to packages.
- Complete end-of-day shipping report.
- Follow all safety rules and practices.
- Maintain adequate shipping supplies and a clean, organized shipping area.
- Promote a team environment by assisting where needed during downtime.
- Attend department meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the E-Commerce Supervisor.
- Maintain a positive, courteous, and helpful demeanor when interacting with customers, donors, co-workers, and clients.
Requirements
- Computer proficiency and previous computer experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to complete necessary paperwork accurately.
- Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work within a team concept.
- Must be well-groomed and personable.
- Must be bondable and have dependable transportation.
- Subject to background check and random alcohol/drug testing as part of the Drug-Free Workplace Program.

Pay
