E&C TECHNICIAN (DEVERS, TX)

Responsibilities

• Responsible for safe troubleshooting, installation, repair and operation of mechanical, electrical and instrument equipment.
• Understand accepted troubleshooting guidelines for PLC, control valves and all PLC logic.
• Possess overall knowledge of the installation, operation, and repair of assigned equipment.
• Maintain sufficient inventory of electrical supplies and repair parts to meet most emergency situations.
• Take care of company vehicle, keeping it clean and organized.
• Report any unsafe practices or actions to supervisor.
• Continuously look for better and more efficient ways of doing the job.
• Keep lines of communication open to supervisor and other company employees while meeting the needs of all customers.
• Make callouts on equipment.
• Work with project managers, engineering and contractors on all new construction projects.
• Maintain all controls, monitor alarms and sensor tests.
• Troubleshoot and schedule electrical maintenance for the assigned location.
• Demonstrate solid understanding of electrical motor control.
• Read electrical prints and make appropriate red‑line changes.
• Assist PLC programming personnel.
• Possess good understanding of PLC cause and effect.
• Supervise electrical contractors.

Education and Experience

High School degree or equivalent.

General knowledge of compressor stations, gathering system, and processing plant operations.

Valid operating license with an acceptable driving record under company insurers.

Physical Demands

Uses physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment/tools. Climbs and works at various heights. May work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched or kneeling position. Routinely reacts to visual, aural and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work. Regularly bends, stoops, moves from ground level to higher levels, raises/​lifts a load up to 50 lb., manually transports a load up to 75 lb., and applies up to 150 ft‑lb of torque. Regularly gets into and out of vehicles and rides over rough roads. Candidates may be subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing requirements, overtime, and call‑outs.

Working Conditions

Works mostly outdoors, in and around mechanical, industrial and electrical equipment. Required to climb about equipment and work in confined areas (e.g., tanks, between compressors, vessels). May be subject to hazardous conditions including hydrocarbon vapor, adverse weather, and extreme temperatures. Wears safety equipment as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyman electrician.
• Experience with Maximo or other Enterprise Asset Management application.
