E&C Engineer

About the Role

This role involves performing point-to-point testing for distribution field devices and substation equipment in Texas, with remote support for Colorado and NSP services. It includes logistical preparation, scheduling with crews, and working in a SIP-controlled environment. The position primarily involves desk work in a secure environment, with occasional field visits for perspective.

Responsibilities

• Conduct point-to-point testing for distribution field devices (e.g., 3 closures, cap racks, sectionalizing cabinets) and distribution substation equipment.
• Handle logistical setup for device testing and collaborate with internal teams.
• Execute point-to-point testing and track/report results using Excel or PowerApps.
• Support Texas operations and provide remote assistance for Colorado and NSP services.
• Interact with engineering, line crews, troublemen, control center operators, and substation personnel.
• Contribute to key projects like flisser and volt/VAR optimization.

Qualifications

• Experience with electric distribution systems.
• Familiarity with Excel and PowerApps.
• Ability to coordinate and report on testing progress.
• Strong team collaboration and communication skills.
• Adaptability to shifting priorities.
• 2-5 years of experience, ideally from utility or telecom sectors with testing experience.
• SCADA experience and communications troubleshooting knowledge.
