About the Role

Shoppa's is implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations as its core ERP. We're looking for a hands-on technical owner who can keep the system healthy, troubleshoot issues, and build new functionality in X++. You'll be the internal authority on F&O, working alongside our implementation partner, third-party ISV solution providers, and integrated platforms such as Stack (field service management).

Responsibilities

  • Administration and Operations:
    • Manage F&O environments (sandbox, UAT, production) through Lifecycle Services / Power Platform admin center, including deployments, database refreshes, and Microsoft's One Version service updates.
    • Own security: role, duty, and privilege design, user provisioning, segregation-of-duties reviews, and audit support.
    • Monitor and maintain batch jobs, workflows, alerts, number sequences, and system performance.
    • Serve as tier-2/3 support for business users: diagnose errors, trace data issues, and work with Microsoft support and vendors to resolve them.
  • Development:
    • Design, build, and maintain customizations using X++ extensions (chain of command, event handlers, table and form extensions), with no overlayering.
    • Build and maintain SSRS reports, data entities, and Electronic Reporting configurations.
    • Manage source control, builds, and release pipelines in Azure DevOps.
    • Test and regression-check customizations against each Microsoft service update.
  • Integration:
    • Support and extend integrations using OData, custom services, the Data Management Framework, Business Events, and Azure services (Logic Apps, Service Bus, Functions).
    • Act as technical liaison for external platforms integrating with F&O, including Stack. This covers exposing data entities, managing app registrations and service accounts, and resolving integration errors.
    • Coordinate with ISV vendors whose extensions run in our environment, and evaluate how their updates affect our customizations and integrations.
  • Governance:
    • Maintain documentation for customizations, integrations, and security design.
    • Push back on customization where standard functionality or configuration will do, and evaluate change requests against their upgrade cost.

Qualifications

  • Requirements:
    • 5+ years of hands-on D365 F&O (or AX 2012) technical experience, including production X++ development.
    • Strong command of the F&O extension model, data entities, and the application object tree.
    • Experience with LCS/PPAC environment management, deployable packages, and service updates.
    • SQL Server proficiency for troubleshooting and data analysis.
    • Experience building or supporting REST/OData integrations.
    • Ability to explain technical issues to finance, parts, and service users without jargon.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience in equipment dealership, distribution, or service-heavy industries (rental, parts, field service).
    • Azure integration services and Power Platform (Power Automate, Dataverse, dual-write).
    • Microsoft certifications: MB-500 (F&O Developer), MB-300 (Core Finance & Operations).
    • Experience supporting ISV solutions in a multi-vendor F&O environment.
