Avondale Haslet Animal Clinic is a full-service, AAHA-accredited small animal practice in Haslet, TX, serving the community since 2009. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive small animal care across general wellness, advanced medicine, diagnostics, surgery, and urgent care
- Collaborate with experienced veterinarians and technicians on medical and surgical procedures
- Participate in diagnostic processes including fecal exams, blood smears, radiographs, urinalysis, and CBC/chemistry panels
- Engage with clients to communicate care plans and build trust
What to expect during the externship
- Receive mentorship and supervision from seasoned veterinarians
- Observe and assist in medical and surgical procedures, diagnostics, and client communication
- Develop hands-on technical skills in a structured, supportive environment
- Refine diagnostic interpretation of fecal samples, blood smears, radiographs, urinalysis, and lab panels
Requirements
- Active enrollment in a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program at an accredited university, graduating in 2027
- Authorization to work in the United States
