About the role

OnPoint Veterinary Hospital in Middleton, ID treats every patient like family and has built a 4.5-star Google reputation for comprehensive small-animal care. You’ll join a team of three DVMs dedicated to helping animals live healthy, pain-free lives, supported by a broader network that empowers teammates to grow through advanced certifications and leadership pathways. Veterinarians have direct access to internal specialty consultations and mentorship, plus a broad caseload spanning wellness, advanced care, diagnostics, surgery, urgent care, and exotic pet medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine wellness and preventive care
  • Conduct advanced diagnostic testing and interpret results
  • Perform a wide range of surgical procedures
  • Provide urgent care coverage
  • Deliver specialized care for exotic pets

DVM Mission Launch: Externship + New Graduate Opportunity

$1,000/week stipend | Open to the Class of 2027

This externship is designed for DVM students ready to launch their careers. Externs receive an enhanced $1,000/week stipend and gain hands-on experience with mentorship, medical and surgical procedures, diagnostics, and client communication. The externship serves as a two-way evaluation: you assess fit for a future full-time role, and we assess you as a potential colleague. There is no obligation, but if it clicks, the path from extern to full-time doctor is direct.

What to expect

  • Gain broad clinical experience with supervision from experienced veterinarians
  • Observe and participate in medical and surgical procedures, diagnostics, and client communication
  • Receive genuine mentorship in a supportive environment
  • Enhance diagnostic skills by interpreting fecal samples, blood smears, radiographs, urinalysis, and CBC/chemistry panels
  • Fine-tune technical skills by applying classroom knowledge in practice

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Active enrollment in a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program at an accredited university, graduating in 2027
  • Professional comportment and appearance with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude
  • Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
  • Compassionate, team-player attitude with respect for clients and their pets
  • Authorization to work in the United States
