About the role

We are seeking a Dutch Language Instructor to join our dynamic team in Stone Bay, Jacksonville, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in language instruction and a passion for teaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills
• Provide instruction on regional and cultural topics
• Integrate technology in the classroom and in homework assignments
• Develop learning materials

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of recent (completed within the last 18 months), related experience teaching at the secondary level or higher (a minimum of 600 classroom hours)
• A master’s degree in any field
• At least 6 years of recent (completed within the last 18 months), related experience teaching at the secondary level or higher (minimum of 12 week course), a bachelor’s degree in any field, and documentation showing that the instructor taught at least three 3-6 month courses in ILR 1 to ILR 2 or 6-9 months in ILR 2 to ILR 3 to military students and the average test scores exceeded the goal by at least a half point (i.e. 2+/2+ for a 2/2).
• Completed formal study of the English Language and achieved a score indicated on any of the below:
• At least ILR level 2 as measured by DoD test
• A score of 573 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), PBT, or TOEFL iBT score as follows: 89 minimum overall, and at least 21 each in Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing
• A score of no less than 89 on the English Comprehension Level (ECL) test
• An ACTFL proficiency level 2+ or Advanced-High (ACTFL)

Skills

• List technical, software, etc. soft skill requirements
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Able to install and enable foreign fonts
• Proficient in the use of common media players (e.g. Windows Media Player, Real Player, SMARTBoards, etc.)
• Proficient in the use of Internet Explorer, Chrome or another web browser
