About the role
NY Duopoly (WNBC & WNJU) is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and technically-savvy news producer to join our award-winning team at Rockefeller Center. Candidates should thrive in high-pressure situations, excel in breaking news and weather coverage, and understand the power of visual storytelling. Bilingual communication skills are essential for inclusive and effective storytelling across NBCU Local Media platforms.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a daily newscast producer and multiplatform content creator.
- Write, produce, desktop edit, and gather content for all WNJU & WNBC platforms.
- Participate in editorial meetings by offering unique enterprise story ideas.
- Manage a team of Content Producers to produce compelling and relevant stories, providing coaching and mentoring as needed.
- Utilize the latest graphic tools to visually enhance and showcase stories.
- Work with the production team to ensure clean, seamless newscasts.
- Collaborate with Executive Producers and fellow Producers to deliver complete, fair, and accurate local news coverage.
- Use social media and editing tools to create multiplatform content.
- Collaborate with reporters, anchors, and other producers on multiplatform content.
- Monitor social tools to stay updated on Tri-State area news and trending topics.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong journalistic skills and significant experience as a television news producer in a major market.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in newsgathering and/or production, including newsroom writing, producing, and desktop editing.
- Knowledge of various media platforms, including broadcast, web, and mobile.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with talent, crew, and clients in both languages to support inclusive storytelling.
- Must be willing to work in New York City.
- Must be available to work evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, or as assigned.
- Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.
Pay
$90,000 - $105,000
