Dual Enrollment Credential and Course Alignment Manager

Training$105k–$110k/yrFull-time

Position Overview

Reporting to the University Assistant Dean for P20 Pathways, the Manager of Dual Enrollment Credential and Course Alignment leads the development of new credentials and learning experiences that support the expansion of college‑and‑career aligned dual‑credit courses. The role works directly with CUNY campuses and faculty, department chairs, and external training and credentialing partners to align learning pathways for students moving through workforce, apprenticeship, and credentialing programs, as well as programs for dual‑enrollment instructors. A central focus is developing new credential pathways and aligning external training and credentialing programs with CUNY’s existing Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) policies, ensuring competencies gained through professional experience are recognized as academic credit.

Work Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Design & Credentialing Alignment
    • Support the design and oversight of credentialing curricula in industry‑aligned disciplines, including undergraduate and graduate coursework, pedagogy training, and mentored teaching or practicum experiences.
    • Partner with CUNY faculty and department chairs to build and formally approve coursework that meets departmental instructional and hiring standards.
    • Coordinate recruitment, selection, and preparation of program participants in partnership with school and workforce partners, prioritizing high‑need industry areas such as education, healthcare, technology, and sustainability/energy.
    • Track curriculum milestones, training completion, and instructor or participant placement, and support ongoing recruitment of new participant cohorts.
  • Apprenticeship, Training & Industry Pathway Alignment
    • Assess alignment between dual enrollment, early college, and workforce training coursework and the competencies required across apprenticeship and industry credentialing programs, identifying gaps and opportunities.
    • Build and maintain a structured inventory of CUNY courses, programs, and degrees mapped to occupation‑specific and standardized competencies to support alignment and credit decisions.
    • Develop and formalize models for Credit for Prior Learning (CPL), advanced standing, and course placement in alignment with CUNY policies and campus academic offices.
    • Develop training pathway frameworks and learning sequences that connect applied and on‑the‑job training to CUNY coursework, focusing on emerging and high‑need industries.
    • Maintain and periodically update career pathway and industry mapping resources to help students, advisors, and partners understand connections between training programs, credentials, and CUNY degree pathways.
  • Student Transitions & Advising Support
    • Support the development of advising tools and resources that help students and program completers translate training, apprenticeship, or credentialing experience into CUNY coursework and degree progress.
    • Engage CUNY campuses to assess interest, capacity, and readiness to host and enroll students transitioning from training and apprenticeship programs, and share findings with campus and P20 Pathways leadership.
    • Partner with campus advising teams to ensure consistent, informed guidance on credit transfer and CPL options for students moving from training programs into CUNY.
    • Support the design of bridge or introductory coursework that helps students without prior college exposure build the skills needed to succeed in credit‑bearing coursework.
  • Program Development & Institutional Coordination
    • Serve as a key point of contact for training providers, industry partners, and school‑system partners on curriculum‑related questions and credit alignment.
    • Maintain documentation of curriculum decisions, articulation and CPL agreements, and course inventories to support institutional continuity, audits, and future scaling.
    • Identify opportunities to expand and standardize the university’s approach to credentialing and pathway alignment, particularly with school‑age youth, across additional industries and partner programs.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree; 5+ years of experience in curriculum development, workforce/apprenticeship training, career and technical education, or higher education program management.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in education, curriculum & instruction, workforce development, public policy, social work, or a related field; demonstrated experience designing or aligning curriculum across secondary, postsecondary, and workforce/apprenticeship systems; working knowledge of registered apprenticeship structures, civil service hiring systems, or NYC workforce development programs; experience building credit‑for‑prior‑learning, articulation, or advanced‑standing agreements; familiarity with high‑need industry pathways (e.g., healthcare, education, technology, sustainability/energy, skilled trades); experience working directly with faculty and academic departments; experience partnering with K–12 systems, particularly NYCPS, on dual enrollment or career pathway programming; strong project management and relationship‑building skills; excellent written and verbal communication, including translating technical curricular work for non‑academic audiences; commitment to equity, inclusion, and anti‑racist practices in education and organizational leadership.
