About the Role

The Dual Credit Success Coach supports students who have not yet completed high school from admission through successful course completion by providing proactive academic coaching, monitoring student progress, connecting students with college resources, assisting students in understanding college expectations, and serving as a liaison among students, parents, high school partners, faculty, and college departments to promote student success and retention through coordinated advising and dual credit support services.

Responsibilities

  • 30% Student Success and Case Management: Manages a caseload of assigned students who have not yet completed high school by monitoring academic progress, reviewing early alerts, conducting proactive outreach, documenting student interactions, developing student success plans, and connecting students with appropriate college and community resources to promote persistence and successful course completion.
  • 20% Academic Coaching and Student Navigation: Provides individualized academic coaching to students who have not yet completed high school by assisting with educational planning, degree and career exploration, registration guidance, college policies and procedures, and use of student technologies such as the student portal, learning management system, and student email. Helps students understand college expectations, develop self-advocacy skills, and successfully navigate college processes while enrolled in high school.
  • 20% High School, Family and Campus Collaboration: Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with students, parents, high school counselors, administrators, instructors, and college faculty and staff to promote student success. Provides on-site support for enrollment of students who have not yet completed high school, registration, orientation, and student success initiatives at partnering high schools, collaborating with other college personnel during peak registration and onboarding periods. Supports the Director of Academic and CTE Dual Credit as a liaison between the college and partnering school districts by communicating important deadlines, academic expectations, available resources, and student support information while ensuring compliance with FERPA and college policies.
  • 15% Academic Monitoring and Student Intervention: Monitors student academic performance through grades, attendance, faculty feedback, and early alert systems to identify students requiring additional support. Coordinates timely interventions by communicating with students, faculty, and appropriate campus departments, including tutoring, accessibility services, counseling, Grayson Cares, financial aid, and other student support programs. Assists students in developing strategies to overcome academic or personal barriers affecting their success.
  • 10% Documentation, Data Management and Reporting: Maintains accurate and timely records of student interactions, advising notes, referrals, and interventions within the college's student information and case management systems. Reviews student success data to identify trends, supports assessment of student outcomes, prepares reports as requested, and ensures compliance with institutional policies and data integrity standards.
  • 5% Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Six months to two years of similar or related experience required.
  • Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
  • Other Skills:
    • Ability to use a computer and learn new software or applications to complete daily work.
    • Ability to establish rapport and develop relationships.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to make public presentations.
    • Ability to work independently to complete projects and meet objectives.
  • Physical Requirements: The work is typically sedentary. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to do the work.
  • Work Environment: Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a typical office.

This position requires three professional references and submission of transcript copies. This position is considered a security-sensitive position and will require a criminal background check.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $49,281.02 to $73,921.54.
