DSP Overnight Awake -CITZ Non Driver

About the Role

Practice and promote the agency’s mission statement and guiding principles in every interaction. Provide ongoing support to the people that live in the Residential Services program to ensure that a high quality of life is maintained. Support areas include self-care routines, health, safety, household chores, socialization, and overall wellbeing. Responsibilities

• Practice and promote the agency’s mission statement in every interaction.
• Provide ongoing support to people during overnight and morning hours, including self-care routines (toileting, feeding, showering, dressing, diapering), health, safety, alternate positioning, and overall wellbeing to maintain a high quality of life.
• Ensure a safe and clean home by assisting people with household chores and participating as needed (e.g., laundry).
• Follow all treatment plans and utilize corresponding adaptive and safety equipment for each person to promote independence and ensure health, safety, and wellbeing.
• Report and document any events or activities that may hinder the health, safety, and wellbeing of residents (e.g., allegations of abuse, injuries, broken equipment, falls).
• Support people in the morning with meal preparation, teaching concepts such as diet adherence, portion control, and cooking skills.
• Assist with medication administration according to AMAP policy and procedures.
• Accompany or transport people supported using safe driving practices to day programs or job locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion and maintenance of AMAP (Approved Medication Administration Personnel) status.
• Ability to communicate and understand written and oral directives/information.
• Excellent team player with a positive attitude.
• Qualified driver status not required for overnight Direct Support Professionals working 11 pm – 7 am; 911 will be called for all overnight medical emergencies as most overnight staff must remain on grounds to meet minimum staffing requirements. Non-qualified drivers cannot use agency vehicles or transport the people supported.

Schedule

Overnight shift: 11 pm – 7 am, with morning support duties included.
