About the role
This position is for a DSP Software Engineering internship opportunity at Motorola Solutions in Plantation, Florida. We are looking for engineers with a strong interest in DSP and embedded systems to help expand our team and deliver the next generation of communication devices to our customers.
The global Digital Signal Processing (DSP) team is responsible for architecting, designing and developing real-time software for digital communications and audio for Motorola Solutions worldwide portfolio two-way radio products. The team delivers Audio and RF Signal Processing Software and owns all Applications Processor DSP subsystems, including Audio Management.
Responsibilities
- Work in an Agile/Scrum team to analyze, design, implement cutting edge real-time software for DSP algorithms and Low Level device drivers to be used in wireless products
- Teamwork in a multi-site, world-wide development environment
- Finding, tracking, and repairing device software defects
- Create and execute unit, integration, system, load, and acceptance tests
Requirements
Must be pursuing a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical & Computer Engineering.
Skills
- Knowledge of fundamentals of Digital Signal Processing and/or Digital Communication
- Experience in C/C++ (plus)
- Knowledge of Machine Learning (plus)
- Experience with Matlab, Python, Perl (plus)
- Experience in real-time embedded software (plus)
- Strong communication and problem solving skills (plus)
- Experience using version control; Git (plus)
- Experience with Linux (plus)
- Experience with embedded development/debug tools (such as emulators/JTAG, etc.) (plus)
