DSHS YVS Food Service Worker
About the role
Contribute to a large-scale food service operation by preparing and serving meals, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting kitchen efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Transport food, supplies, and equipment between kitchens, dining areas, storerooms, and refrigerators.
- Assemble salads, sandwiches, and desserts according to established recipes and standards.
- Prepare and serve special modified diets in accordance with dietary requirements.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene.
- Clean kitchen areas by scrubbing surfaces, mopping floors, and emptying trash.
- Operate standard kitchen equipment, including coffee makers, toasters, mixers, and dishwashers.
Requirements
Knowledge of kitchen and dining room operations, personal hygiene, sanitation, and housekeeping practices, including the use of standard kitchen appliances and utensils.
Ability to learn food preparation and serving routines, including therapeutic dietary orders, recipes, and menus.
Follow instructions and directions given by supervisors and lead workers effectively.
Qualifications
Professionals with a food handler's card or the ability to obtain one within one day of employment.

Skills

Benefits
Evening and night shifts come with an additional shift differential on top of the standard compensation rate.
Employees who work on-site at this location for at least three days a week may be eligible for an extra 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $18.00 to $22.00 per hour.
