About the role

Join our Home and Community Living Administration (HCLA) to improve long-term care services through consultation, training, and quality assurance. In this hybrid role, you’ll provide training, consultation, and support to staff within Home and Community Services (HCS). You will report to the HCS office closest to your residence to provide in-office coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, facilitate, and provide training and consultation to staff at all levels to ensure compliance with program requirements, WACs, RCWs, operating policies, and procedures.
  • Provide training and technical support to line staff, supervisors, and managers.
  • Develop and update training plans and monitor training progress.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of caseloads.
  • Disseminate information to staff regarding current policy and procedures, management bulletins, WAC changes, and other program-affecting updates.
  • Compile statistics and public benefits data.
  • Conduct ongoing quality assurance reviews.
  • Act as a liaison between local, regional, and headquarters staff for policy clarifications, interpretations, and dissemination of information.

Requirements

We’re looking for candidates with one of the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration, or a related field; and 5 years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs.
  • A master’s degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration, or a related field; and 4 years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs.
  • One year of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 3 or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 2 or equivalent.

Note: A degree in Social Work must be from an educational program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Medicaid long-term care (LTC) related policies and procedures; ability to interpret and apply laws and regulations into training and consultation provided to social services staff.
  • Knowledge of programs administered by the DSHS Home and Community Living Administration that may affect our client population.
  • Knowledge of current training methods and techniques for adult learners.
  • Experience with the CARE Tool, LTC Quality Assurance process, and ProviderOne systems.
