About the role
Eastern State Hospital is seeking dependable, hardworking individuals to assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients. As a Part-Time Custodian 1, your responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms, hallways, and other areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
Responsibilities
- Maintain floors by sweeping, wet/dry mopping, buffing, scrubbing, stripping, sealing, waxing, and disinfecting.
- Daily care of all restrooms and bathing facilities, including disinfecting and sanitizing toilets, urinals, sinks, tubs, and showers.
- Clean and disinfect all furniture, including beds, nightstands, lockers, chairs, tables, and desks.
- Perform safety checks of areas and report any hazards.
- Clean isolation wards while adhering to proper precautionary measures.
Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Qualifications
- Ability to follow directions.
- Record keeping skills.
- Equipment know-how (experience using janitorial tools).
- Understanding of safety rules.
- Janitorial knowledge.
- Power equipment skills (knowledge of using and maintaining machines like buffers and scrubbers).
- Flexibility to adjust routines based on hospital needs.
Skills
- Follows directions well.
- Able to keep accurate records.
- Experienced with janitorial tools.
- Understands cleaning standards and health regulations.
- Knows how to safely handle cleaning supplies.
- Uses power equipment like buffers and scrubbers.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
Benefits
Opportunities performed on-site at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate.
Pay
The salary range for this position is TBD. Premium pay may apply based on schedule and location.
