About the role
The Department of Social and Health Services Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) seeks a creative behavior specialist to join a dynamic team. The mission is to ensure DDA clients receive the supports needed for healthy, safe, and inclusive lives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and write Functional Behavioral Assessments
- Oversee positive behavior support plans focusing on behavioral health
- Review and manage Cross System Crisis Plans, conducting assessments as needed
- Train direct support professionals in positive behavior support principles and techniques
- Work with residential habilitation centers, hospitals, and mental health providers in treatment planning and discharge planning
- Observe and work with individuals and teams in homes and communities
- Consult with staff on preventing and addressing complex behavior issues
- Complete monthly data analysis
- Travel to Yakima County or other areas as needed
Requirements
- A master's degree in psychology
- Preferred: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Licensed Behavior Analyst
- Experience working with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of positive behavior support principles and treatment strategies for individuals with behavioral health issues
- Understanding of techniques for monitoring and evaluating treatment plans
Qualifications
- Experience with Washington Administrative Code
- Commitment to fairness, access, and social justice
- Knowledge of DSHS and DDA mission and policies
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
