DSD Warehouse Lead

About the Role

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Direct Store Delivery (DSD) Warehouse Lead to support the sales management team and ensure the DSD Distribution Center (DC) in Frazer, PA operates efficiently. The Lead will perform warehouse duties while managing the DC's daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the DSD Distribution Center.
• Assign daily tasks to DSD Warehouse Utilities, ensuring work is completed accurately and timely.
• Assist with training new DSD warehouse team members.
• Order inventory; receive, store, load, and ensure all products and materials are accounted for and kept in excellent condition.
• Unload trailers arriving at the DSD warehouse and verify trailer loads for accuracy.
• Check product picked and loaded by Independent Operators and Distributors, signing load tickets to verify correct inventory.
• Use a handheld computer to balance daily inventory (warehouse inventory, daily orders, extra orders, return to stock, trailer loads).
• Accept and check return-to-stock product, as well as stale and damaged products.
• Maintain warehouse organization, including product rotation and cleanliness (e.g., restrooms).
• Cover open routes as directed by management:
  • Deliver product to customers and bins as needed.
  • Place and merchandise authorized products in accounts to be serviced.
• Lead and assist with month-end inventory counts and report any discrepancies to the Head of DSD Operations immediately.

Requirements

• 3+ years of warehouse experience, preferably in a DSD DC within the food-related industry.
• Prior experience using an Enterprise Resource System such as D365 is highly preferred.
• Experience leading and directing others is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate inventory, records, and product rotation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; basic math proficiency required.
• Ability to make independent decisions on inventory needs, especially during promotional activity.
• Must be at least 19 years old with a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and the ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
• Ability to fill in and cover open routes, including operating a route sales delivery step van or box truck safely and competently.
• Ability to operate a forklift and/or use a hand jack may be required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
