Key Responsibilities
- Oversees the daily operations of the DSD DC.
- Assigns daily tasks to the DSD Warehouse Utilities, ensuring that work is done accurately and timely.
- Assists with training new DSD warehouse team members.
- Orders inventory; Receives, stores, loads, and ensures all products and materials are accounted for and kept in excellent condition.
- Unloads trailers that arrive at the DSD warehouse and checks trailer loads for accuracy.
- Checks product that Independent Operators and Distributors pick and load, signing load tickets to verify correct inventory.
- Uses a handheld computer to balance the daily inventory (warehouse inventory, daily orders, extra orders, return to stock, trailer loads).
- Accepts and checks return to stock product and stale and damaged products.
- Keeps the DSD warehouse organized including product rotation; maintains cleanliness of warehouse, including the restroom(s).
- Covers open routes as directed by management:
- Delivers product to customers and bins as needed.
- Places and merchandizes authorized products in accounts that are to be serviced.
- Leads and assists with month-end inventory counts. Alerts any discrepancies to the Head of DSD Ops. immediately.
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of warehouse experience, preferably in a DSD DC in a food related industry.
- Prior experience using an Enterprise Resource System such as D365 is highly preferred.
- Experience leading and directing others is preferred.
- Requires organization and attention to details to maintain accurate inventory, records, and rotation of product at the distribution center.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; requires basic math skills.
- Requires independent decision making on inventory needs, especially during promotional activity.
- Must be at least 19 years old, have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and possess or have the ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
- Must be able to fill in and cover open routes, as necessary; must be able to operate a route sales delivery step van or box truck in a safe and competent manner.
- Must be able to drive a forklift and/or use a hand jack may be required.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office/Outlook/Excel.
