Job Summary
Receives merchandise from outside vendors and ensures proper check-in, inventory, and/or credit. Monitors product levels and maintains accurate inventory records.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Receives direct store delivery products such as soda, chips, alcohol, etc.
- Checks invoices for accuracy, resolves discrepancies, and assesses product for damage.
- Protects Company assets by properly securing and monitoring back doors.
- Reduce shrink levels by ensuring credit is received from damaged, returned, and out-of-date products.
- Checks inventory on trucks, unloads products, and ensures accuracy of inventory, product ordering, and associated paperwork.
- Maintains the grocery back room according to 5S standards.
- Provides friendly and customer service-oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, and responding to customer complaints.
- Maintains clean, safe and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to Company safety procedures.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Ability to safety operate pallet jack.
- Ability to read and operate digital equipment.
- Ability to maintain detailed records and accurately fill out forms or other documentation.
- Ability to use initiative to decide on a course of action for self or others.
- Ability to make decisions either after thorough evaluation or under time pressure.
- Ability to effectively communicate (in written and verbal form) with vendors, partners, and customers.
- Ability to interpret written and numerical information.
- Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment.
Education, Experience And Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age required.
- Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Typically involves on-the-job training.
- DSD Receiving certification required (obtains through Company LEARN program).

- Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus.
- Frequently required to stand or walk.
- Frequently required to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to use hands for reaching, touching or handling.
- Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs.
- Occasionally required to bend, kneel or squat.

- Work is generally performed in a retail store.
- Occasionally exposed to wet, slippery or damp conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to outside temperatures and weather.
- Quiet to moderate noise level.
