About the role
The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for defining project objectives, overseeing quality control, and assisting with project planning, organization, and management.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage project budgets for all assigned projects
- Develop pre-construction RFP packages
- Conduct project meetings, set milestones, and formulate monthly owner reports
- Establish job processes (RFIs, submittals, and pay applications), including approving pay applications and negotiating subcontract change orders
- Perform project scheduling, ensure project quality control, and establish overall project logistics
- Manage the closeout process
- Ensure fair treatment of subcontractors at all times
- Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs and explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services
Qualifications
- Strong commercial building knowledge and excellent verbal and management skills in preparing cost estimates for bidding purposes
- 5 years of experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor
- Previous experience in a project management role with the ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Organize necessary resources, including people, tools, and time to meet tight deadlines and achieve desired results
- Consistent attention to details with the ability to identify discrepancies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills with a variety of software packages, Sage - Timberline, preferred
