Dry Blend Packing Operator - 2nd shift

About the role

The Packaging Operator I is responsible for packaging flavors (powders, spray dry, liquids, emulsions, and extracts) according to directions on each batch ticket. This role works closely with Batch Compounders to ensure packaging meets food safety, quality, efficiency, and accuracy standards. The position involves filling production orders from equipment such as mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks, while accurately applying labels and following safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Pack production batches and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Record production and other data accurately on specified forms and documents.
• Follow sanitary guidelines for CIP and cleaning.
• Transfer materials, set up equipment, supplies, and packaging materials efficiently.
• Learn and understand food safety concepts and their importance in product manufacturing.
• Promptly observe and communicate food or product quality matters to Shift Leads or Management.
• Perform assigned duties safely and in accordance with company safety policies.
• Complete assigned duties without errors or defects.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to consume required materials using an RF scanner and accurately report batch quantities.
• Attention to detail and basic mathematics skills.
• Ability to manually lift 50 lbs. continuously when necessary.
• Adherence to safety requirements, forklift policy, and proper use of PPE.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to communicate issues effectively.
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
• Ability to learn and consistently follow operational and cleaning procedures.
• Ability to complete required documentation and record-keeping accurately.
