Drug Discovery Resource Outsourcing Manager

For our client, we are seeking a Drug Discovery Resource Outsourcing Manager to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will oversee the intake and prioritization of internal research requests, helping guide how early-stage discovery work is executed through external partners. The manager will evaluate technical needs, align stakeholders on the best path forward, and support efficient outsourcing decisions that advance scientific programs. In this position, you will work closely with internal scientists and external CRO teams to enable high-quality execution, clear communication, and disciplined project oversight. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 annually Responsibilities Serve as the single intake point for internal research requests Assess requests against internal expertise and recommend execution paths Identify and evaluate CROs based on technical and quality criteria Drive execution of CDAs/NDAs and MSAs ahead of scientific work Act as liaison between internal scientists and external project teams Conduct meetings and negotiations in Mandarin, ensuring clear communication Report on project metrics to refine outsourcing strategies Qualifications BS/MS in life sciences such as biochemistry or molecular biology; PhD preferred 5+ years of biotech or pharmaceutical experience with early discovery R&D exposure Experience outsourcing research to CROs and familiarity with NDA/CDA, MSA, and SOW processes Fluency in Mandarin and English for technical negotiations Strong project management skills with excellent attention to detail Sound judgment regarding confidentiality and IP Benefits Opportunity to work at the intersection of science and project management Engagement with leading CROs in China, enhancing global collaboration Potential for professional growth in a dynamic biotech environment Exposure to cutting-edge early-stage drug discovery processes Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
