About the role

A Drug and Alcohol Counselor who excels in this role:

  • Provides direct assessment and counseling services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric clients.
  • Provides individual, marital, family and group psychotherapy as assigned.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records, including adequate paperwork to facilitate proper billing.
  • Knowledgeable of CPT Codes and their appropriate and effective application.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient, hospital, and employee related information.
  • Delivers personalized, efficient care with respect for the individual's spiritual and cultural differences.
  • Participates in community consultation and education as requested.
  • Participates in facility treatment team meetings communicating clinical impressions.
  • Compiles comprehensive patient/family history and records the data.
  • Works to ensure effective performance and productivity maintaining a flexible schedule to accommodate patients.

Requirements

Bilingual and/or English Spanish speaking preferred and ability to work with culturally diverse population.

A High School Diploma or equivalent - required.

An AA in Social Services or equivalent (90 quarter/60 semester college credits) or bachelor's degree in behavioral health sciences.

Must be enrolled in an approved school and gaining the experience required to receive a Substance Use Disorder Professional credential.
