About the Role
The Drop & Count Clerk is primarily responsible for the collection and processing of large volumes of currency from Table Games, Slot Machines, Poker Table Games, and Kiosk machines for reporting purposes in a prescribed manner with accuracy and efficiency. This role provides documentation of all counts, fulfilling all Gaming and Company regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Open, remove, and secure currency from slot machines and table games.
- Adhere to all Drop/Count policies and procedures.
- Accurately count slot machine currency drop and tickets.
- Operate electronic currency counter/sorter and New Wave ticket counter equipment.
- Record currency from each bill acceptor and table game box on the electronic currency counter.
- Prepare and bundle the currency drop for verification.
- Separate slot tickets and currency from gaming machines.
- Perform chip count for the Poker Room.
- Prepare and create various reports on the count and enter them into a computerized online accounting system.
- Inform supervisors of any discrepancies or variances.
- Ensure the area is maintained and clean.
- Complete Drop/Count during regular shift.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information.
- Contribute to a team effort and accomplish related results as required.
- Ensure the safety and security of guests and employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, hear, and speak clearly; and to handle and count money accurately.
- Ability to accurately enter information into computer systems and use a printer.
- Ability to write basic documents and read and understand basic instructions and memos.
- Ability to distinguish between colors.
- Ability to use a 10-key calculator.
- Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures.
- Must present self in a well-groomed, friendly, and professional manner.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, and squat.
- Must be able to work in a location with loud noise, visual distractions, and temperature changes.
- Must be able to comply with all state gaming regulations, which may include obtaining a license.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).
Physical Requirements
- Standing 100%
- Walking 50%
- Bending/Lifting (up to 75 lbs.)
- Pulling/Pushing (up to 75 lbs. with help)
- Must be able to work in an environment exposed to alcohol, cigarette and cigar smoke, bright lights, and loud noises.
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs to the Casino floor.
