DRIVER/WAREHOUSE WORKER - Buffalo FT 6:30am-3:00pm M-F + Retention Bonus

About the Role

This position involves driving and warehouse duties, classified as a Safety Sensitive Position due to the work environment and equipment utilized. The role requires a Valid NYS Driver's License and promotes teamwork and a positive company image.

Responsibilities

Driver Duties

• Deliver and pick up cargo, assisting in loading as necessary.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections and complete required paperwork.
• Inspect freight, paperwork, and vehicle for compliance with regulations.
• Check fuel and oil levels before departure.
• Ensure cargo is secured and undamaged.
• Deliver cargo efficiently and safely, ensuring invoice and order accuracy.
• Unload and assist in unloading cargo at customer locations.
• Collect COD payments as required.

Reporting

• Report discrepancies in vehicle, cargo, or paperwork to supervisor before leaving.
• Complete all DOT-regulated paperwork.
• Report customer complaints or refusals to supervisor.
• Return all required documentation daily (e.g., signed delivery receipts, pick-up slips, driver’s logs).

Service

• Greet customers promptly and courteously.
• Assist customers with loading and unloading cargo.
• Increase personal skills and product knowledge.
• Maintain a neat appearance.

Safety and Maintenance

• Operate the vehicle safely and obey all traffic laws, including proper use of Electronic Log Device (ELD).
• Follow FMCSA Clearinghouse Regulations.
• Allow only approved riders.

Warehouse Duties

• Unload incoming trucks and move products to staging areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or cranes.
• Receive incoming materials and verify accuracy against purchase orders, invoices, or packing slips.
• Prepare orders for shipment by retrieving inventory and packaging for damage-free delivery.
• Maintain a clean work area by sweeping floors and disposing of debris.
• After training, measure materials, log inventory, and operate industrial cutting equipment.
• Operate a non-CDL F450 truck for deliveries when required.

Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required.

Requirements

• Valid NY State Driver’s License in good standing.
• Obtain and maintain a valid Non-DOT Medical Certification.
• Valid Real ID or eligible identification proof may be required for specific delivery territories.
• Registration on FMCSA Clearinghouse and knowledge of State/Federal transport regulations.
• High School Diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of driving experience preferred.
• Knowledge of vehicle parts and maintenance.
• Mathematical ability to verify numbers and product quantities.
• Demonstrated computer skills, including use of the company ERP System.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment after training.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to prepare routine paperwork and perform math calculations.

Skills and Physical Requirements

Equipment and Software

• Operate industrial fork trucks, overhead cranes, back saws, and computers for email, database entry, and ERP system use.
• Read calipers and measuring instruments to determine inventory and customer requirements.
• With training, operate machinery such as saws and lathes.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, gloves, and safety glasses.

Mental and Visual Requirements

• Moderate mental and visual attention for manual work, machine operations, and inspections requiring frequent decision-making.
• Operate equipment in congested areas with varied movement.

Physical Activities

• Perform physical tasks including walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, and repetitive motion of hands/wrists.
• Visual acuity for inspections, reading measuring devices, and operating equipment.
• Exert force to move objects: constantly up to 20 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment

• Minimal exposure to temperature changes, outdoor weather, fumes, odors, gases, mists, oils, and lubricants (SDS sheets available).
• Exposure to physical risks, including operating dangerous equipment and proximity to moving mechanical parts.

Pay

The hourly wage ranges from $19.00 to $27.50 per hour, plus discretionary incentives.

Schedule

Scheduled Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with a variable schedule based on route.
