About the role

This position is responsible for maintaining a professional appearance and knowledge of materials delivered to customers. The driver/warehouse employee will safely drive and handle all materials in accordance with company standards of service. This role also involves various duties related to handling materials in the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and distributing material, tools, equipment, and products while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Reports to: Warehouse Manager or Profit Center Manager.

Responsibilities

• Deliver company materials to customers in a professional manner.
• Effectively and professionally meet and communicate with the public.
• Drive automatic/manual transmission vehicles safely and legally (driving violations may jeopardize the position).
• Perform shipping and receiving duties, including loading and unloading trucks.
• Read customer orders, work orders, and shipping orders to determine items to be picked, packed, distributed, or shipped/transferred.
• Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated areas.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined sequence.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets, shelves, or relocate them to a holding area or shipping department.
• Use computers and RF guns to manage sales orders, inventory, and enter information into the business management system.
• Participate in cycle counting of physical inventory.
• Open boxes and other containers.
• Operate wire cutters to cut wire according to customer orders.
• Operate forklifts in a warehouse setting.
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness by sweeping, dusting, and mopping.
• Organize the warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
• Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
• Assist customers at will-call and walk-ins as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 to 4 years of experience in material handling.
• 3 to 4 years of customer service experience.

Working Conditions

This position operates in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. Routine use of standard office equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines) and warehouse equipment (hand trucks, box cutters, tape dispensers, forklifts) is required.

Pay

The compensation range for this position is $18.00 to $20.00 hourly.

Additional compensation may include profit sharing.
