Driver Technician

About the role

The CDL Driver Technician role combines commercial driving responsibilities with hands-on technical service, providing a unique opportunity to work both on the road and in the field.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate DOT-regulated vehicles to transport equipment and materials to customer locations
• Perform field service, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities
• Interact directly with customers, identifying and resolving equipment issues
• Maintain a safe work environment
• Ensure equipment is operating efficiently and reliably
• Equipment-specific training will be provided

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to obtain a Class A or Class B CDL with applicable endorsements
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card
• Clean driving record
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport for cross-border travel, if required
• 0–2 years of technical or field service experience preferred
• Mechanical, electrical, diesel, fusion, or related technical experience is a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Office and smart devices
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot equipment issues in the field
• Ability to identify and address potential safety concerns
• Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, MVR review, and DOT physical
• Ability to safely operate vehicles on overnight and long-distance routes as needed
• Understanding of vehicle weight limits and load distribution principles

Travel Requirements

• 20%–80% travel depending on business needs and assigned territory
