About the role

Primarily responsible for the support of the Distribution Center by efficiently delivering hardware-related merchandise to Orgill, Inc. customers. The Delivery Driver also picks up customer returns and empty totes and transports them to the DC.

Responsibilities

• Understand DOT regulations and safety-related functions.
• Perform Pre-Trip and Post-Trip functions.
• Deliver and unload merchandise at customer stores, by hand when necessary.
• Complete all required paperwork (DOT logs, Manifests, Trip Reports, and Fuel Reports).
• Familiarity with the E-Log system.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Manage customer merchandise in a timely and safe manner.
• Direct traffic in the event of an accident or breakdown.
• Climb in and out of the cab of the truck several times per day.
• Take direction from Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including rotating and assisting in other jobs (non-essential).

Requirements

• Current Class A license with HazMat endorsement; Doubles required.
• Minimum of two years of tractor driving experience, preferably pulling double trailers.
• Willing and able to work as needed, including a minimum of two nights overnight if required.
• Excellent driving history.
• Commitment to a high standard of safety and compliance with all safety policies/practices.
• Good comprehension skills and ability to interact effectively with other departments and all levels of management.
• Attention to detail and demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain records accurately.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Team player with a "can-do" attitude.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Excellent on-site attendance and predictability.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• Power equipment certification a plus.
