DRIVER - PRN

Responsibilities

• Provides patient transportation to and from the facility providing continuous observation, interaction, and role modeling to the patients while always maintaining safety.
• Works closely with all other clinical staff (Activity Therapists, Social Workers, Nurses) to conduct various process and specialty groups within the patient program.
• Assures that the patient program schedule is carried out as planned by the staff team.
• Performs various duties assisting staff nurses in the psychiatric and physical treatment and care of patients in accordance with established methods and procedures of the hospital.
• Interacts closely with patients remaining engaged in the various activities and events that patients experience throughout the treatment day.
• Interacts with patients in a therapeutic manner at all times and assists other staff to also maintain appropriate boundaries.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school graduate or equivalent.
• Maintain a valid class specific driver’s license applicable to transporting patients.
• Driving record must meet or exceed the facility standards.
• BLS and De-escalation Certification required.
• PREFERRED: Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Health related field and two years of experience in the mental health field (psychiatric/inpatient or outpatient setting).
