About the role

As a Full Time Paratransit SEPTA Access Driver, you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of our passengers. No experience is necessary—we provide expert training and guidance to help you become a safe and professional driver.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport community members and neighbors to and from appointments, errands, and other destinations.
• Supervise boarding and unloading at stops; assist passengers while entering the vehicle and with mobility aids.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the vehicle clean and sanitary.
• Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with passengers, staff, and dispatch about behavior or delays.
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service skills.

Requirements

• At least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.
• Full-time schedule availability.
• Enjoy working with people and driving.
• Subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee (marijuana use is not permitted under DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40).
• English proficiency (required for training, safety communications, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations).

Preferred skills (not required):

• Valid CDL License (Class A, B, or C) with passenger endorsement.

• Previous experience as a social worker, classroom assistant, hospitality worker, customer service representative, retail associate, care assistant, or direct care worker.
