Driver/ MVO/HT
About the role
We are seeking a Hospital Tripper/Driver to join our team at our program in Coraopolis, PA. This is a non-professional position entailing the operation of the facility's motor vehicles while transporting individuals to and from medical appointments, trips, and to and from their residence to the program centers as designated. The MVO/PA/HT SFR is also involved with providing direct care to individuals with Intellectual Developmental disabilities. Staff also provide assistance with transfers/lifts as well as hygiene while on medical appointments. Direct supervision is provided by the Health Services Supervisor/Nursing Department.
Responsibilities
- Escort residents via Merakey/Allegheny Valley School vehicles or emergency vehicles to doctors' offices, health centers or emergency rooms
- Ensure safe transportation, i.e., secure wheelchairs and individuals in vehicles and supervise during transport
- Develop and maintain professional rapport with personnel of doctors' offices, clinics and hospitals
- Follow a designated routine and assignments as outlined by the HSS/AHSS
- Provide direct care to individuals with Intellectual Developmental disabilities, including assistance with transfers/lifts and hygiene while on medical appointments
Requirements
- Previous experience driving various size vehicles (non CDL)
- Must maintain a valid driver's license
- High school diploma required
Qualifications
- Related work experience with individuals with IDD and/or direct care experience is preferred
Pay
Earn $18/hr. with the selection of the Enhanced Pay Option.
