Driver/ Merchandiser Float

About the Role

Delivers and stocks Hispanic branded meats and cheeses at customer locations on an assigned route with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain store shelf standards and inventory through product rotation and merchandising strategies
• Ensure pricing matches current promotions and marketing materials are displayed
• Protect and gain shelf space for Bar-S products by stocking bunkers and promotional spaces
• Optimize brand presence in designated areas
• Unload product at customer locations and stock according to specifications
• Collect signed receipt documents per company policy
• Provide excellent customer service, assess customer needs, and recommend products
• Load truck at distribution center and acknowledge/sign for product from DC or carriers
• Perform accounts receivable duties: issue/review invoices and credit memos, follow procedures for inventory proof of delivery and returns, and receive payment for delivered product
• Inspect vehicle and maintain driver records, plates, insurance, and routine maintenance
• Report mechanical issues, accidents, or driving violations
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• One (1) year of sales route experience
• Fluent in Spanish and intermediate English proficiency (DOT Requirement)
• Valid driver's license and required vehicle insurance
• MVR meeting Sigma driving standards
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience delivering refrigerated food to stores (preferred)
• Food product and/or consumer packaged goods sales experience (preferred)

• Ability to work accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain professional demeanor
• Ability to work independently

Working Conditions

• Able to work in cold environment (approx. 34°F) for extended periods
• Travel up to 90%, including overnight stays (up to 5 days at a time)

Physical Requirements

• Able to sit/drive for at least 4 hours
• Able to climb in/out of truck cab/body
• Able to stand for at least 4 hours
• Repeatedly lift/move 30-pound boxes/buckets
• Perform repeated twisting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling of 30 pounds
• Move 75-pound load on cart/hand-truck without assistance
