Driver Manager - Landisville, PA
About the role
The Driver Manager is a member of the Day & Ross Operations Team. The role requires driver managers to ensure safe, on-time delivery for various customers, while maximizing the productivity and profitability of an assigned fleet of drivers and trucks. Driver Managers are also responsible for creating a positive quality of work for drivers and providing safe and effective driver management to enhance driver retention.
Responsibilities
- Ensure driver success through relationship building, effective communication, positive recognition and timely addressing of issues (performance and personal related).
- Create and maintain complete load information, including routing and directions to ensure drivers are fully prepared for work assignments.
- Assist/coach drivers with time management issues, such as departure times and driving time management to ensure on-time delivery and hours of service compliance.
- Assist/coach drivers with on-board ELD system and HOS compliance.
- Maintain monitoring of TMS System software for correct trip information and flow.
- Negotiate and arrange for transportation of goods using various tools in the ELD System and TMS Systems per company processes and procedures.
Requirements
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED with logistics experience preferred.
- A 4-year college degree preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in transportation is required.
- Previous supervision, transportation, and/or operational experience is necessary.
Qualifications
- Ability to multitask effectively.
Skills
- Knowledge of various tools in the ELD System and TMS System systems per company processes and procedures.
