Driver Lead

About the role

Join a strong and continuously evolving transportation group at Imperial Brady, a leading North American distributor and solutions provider for cleaning and facility care, foodservice, and packaging. The Driver Lead is a working role overseeing Driver associates, completing required paperwork and reports, and providing leadership to ensure the achievement of departmental goals while handling daily deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Conduct meetings with Driver associates, including monthly safety huddles
• Oversee driver associates and driver operations
• Complete required paperwork and reports, such as driver logs, driver meal forms, hazmat information, and compliance paperwork, and send to Transportation Management
• Notify Branch Leadership/Transportation Manager about work-related problems and/or procedures
• Ensure safety regulations and policies are followed, and required safety equipment is available and maintained
• Participate in training seminars and company meetings
• Foster an atmosphere that enhances team cohesiveness
• Provide direction to ensure adherence to department guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Participate in reviewing, selecting, and hiring new associates

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver’s license
• Must be able to pass a DOT Medical Exam
• Good driving record
• Good organizational, time management, and leadership skills
• Knowledge of warehouse functions/operations
• Knowledge of Commercial Motor Vehicle operations and regulations
• Strong communication skills
• Microsoft Outlook and Excel knowledge is a plus
